Days 5 -6: Visiting Pingyao and Heading to Shanghai

We visited Anna's home town called Pingyao yesteday where she stayed with her foster family for two years. Her old orphanage was also there. As we passed some apartment buildings, Anna ponited to them and we asked her if they were her home, and she said yes. We thought the old orphanage was empty, but it turned out that there were still some people there. At first, they didn't let us in, but after they saw Anna, they all remembered her and called her by her name. We walked around and talked to the people there for quite a while. They told us about her foster family and showed us some pictures from when she was younger. They told us her foster family really adored her and her foster mom cried many, many times when Anna had to leave. She went to Hangzhou to see Anna a couple of days before we went to pick up Anna. I wanted to cry after hearing the story.
Also, our guide picked up Anna's passport yesterday, and we took a train to Shanghai. There is limited internet access where we are staying in Shanghai, so I may not be able to update the blog as often as I would like to.
